Trustees’ Week takes place this year from 3-7 November 2025. It’s a time for people and organisations across the charity sector to come together and celebrate the achievements of trustees.

Get answers from OSCR’s expert staff about everything from trustee duties to filing accounts. Whether you want to know more about the charity trustee details which will appear on the Scottish Charity Register from early 2026, would like some top tips about how to recruit new trustees or have a query about the duties of charity trustees in Scotland, we’re here to answer your questions. OSCR x Third Sector Lab: Social Media Guide 2026

Monday 3 November, 11am – 12.30pm (online)

Together with Third Sector Labs, we’re launching an updated social media guide for Scottish charities. In this interactive discussion, we’ll explain how charities can use social media with purpose and impact and give you the tools and confidence to get social media right for your organisation.

Digital Trustees: Strengthening Boards in a Digital Age

Thursday 6 November, 11am – 12.30pm (online)

As charities navigate a rapidly changing digital world, strong and forward-looking governance has never been more important. This online panel, hosted by the Digital Trustees Programme at Third Sector Lab in partnership with OSCR, will explore what it means to be a trustee in 2025 and beyond. Learn how digital skills can strengthen boards, enhance decision-making, and support compliance with charity law.

Other events

We’ll also be speaking at several other events during Trustees’ Week, including:

• Tuesday 4 November: OSCR’s Laura Anderson (Senior Manager Higher Risk Cases and Quality Assurance) will be speaking about changes to charity law at the Brewin Dolphin Annual Scottish Seminar 2025, as well as taking part in a panel discussion about charity mergers at the event.
• Tuesday 4 November: At SCVO’s Trustees’ Week conference, OSCR’s Policy Manager Steve Kent and charity lawyer Gillian Harkness-McKinlay from Anderson Strathearn will host a session on important legal changes for charity trustees, and the themes, trends, and challenges facing charities and voluntary organisations right now.
• Tuesday 4 November: Claire Morrison, OSCR’s Senior Manager Policy & Sector Improvement will be speaking at the Shetland Third Sector Gathering with Turcan Connell. She will be giving an update on recent legal changes for Scottish charities, including the collection of trustee details and publication of accounts.
