This week (7-11 November) is Trustees’ Week! It’s a time for people and organisations across the charity sector to come together and celebrate the achievements of trustees.
At OSCR, we have a range of useful resources and guidance to help trustees develop their skills and understand their role within the charity sector.
Guidance and good practice for charity trustees
Our guidance sets out, in a straightforward way, what charity trustees must consider so that they meet legal requirements, ensure that their charities are well-run, and can avoid some of the common problems that can arise.
As well as looking at the general and more specific duties of trustees, we also give examples of how these might work and share good practice from across the sector.

Fundraising guidance for trustees
It’s up to a charity’s trustees to make sure that they – and any fundraisers working on their behalf – observe the legal requirements and fundraising practices that will encourage the public’s continued support and confidence.
Our guidance contains all you need to know about self-regulation of fundraising, the Code of Fundraising Practice and trustees’ duties.
