Today (10 February 2025), the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has published an interim inquiry report into concerns raised about West Wemyss Community Trust Limited (SC043268).
The inquiry was initiated following concerns raised about the charity’s governance. Given the significant public interest, we have published this interim report in line with our inquiry policies. Opening an inquiry does not mean that we have found any wrongdoing by the charity trustees at this stage, simply that we need to know more about the situation.
Our inquiry focuses on how the charity is being managed by its trustees (directors) in accordance with its governing document (constitution) and relevant legal requirements.
We will continue working with the trustees to gather information, ensure they are fulfilling their duties, and safeguard the charity’s assets. The interim inquiry report will be updated as necessary, but in line with our policies, OSCR will not provide further comment on the ongoing inquiry at this time.
