Inquiry Report: Free Wheel North
The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has today (Thursday 15 June 2023) published an inquiry report into concerns raised about the charity Free Wheel North (SC039789).
From January 2022, OSCR received a number of concerns about several issues within the charity.
Following the conclusion of our inquiry, we have published this report to explain more about the concerns we received, how we carried out our inquiry and what our findings were.
OSCR has concluded that it is neither necessary nor proportionate to take formal action in relation to the historical failure of the charity trustees to meet their duties. We have, however, issued the charity with several recommendations about how it can improve its governance, and we will follow up on the charity’s progress with implementing these. We believe that it is important that the charity trustees are allowed time to implement these measures and that they are given a fair opportunity by all concerned to make the necessary improvements.
