The aims, objectives and purposes of Sarajia Islamic Studies and Community Centre are:- a. The prevention or relief of poverty is done by serving the cause of Islam, truly and practically, bycreating facilities for observance of its principles. Also to raise funds for the poor, this is compulsory in Islam known as ?SADAQAH?. b. The advancement of education and religion is done by promoting, providing or assisting in the teaching of Islam in West Lothian Scotland. This is achieved by Classes for children between 4pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday, also Ladies classes which are held on Sunday afternoons and finally Male classes on Thursday evening?s between 7pm and 9pm. Private classes for individuals are also available on individual requested that are arranged via the Imam. During the classes students will learn about Islam?s history, religious studies, cultural education and also the mother language Arabic. Finally the centre is equipped with an Islamic Library which is available to any member of the community. Also we print publish newspapers, magazines and periodicals to further the objectives of the centre. We also follow a syllabus which is followed by other centres that will be used for Children exams. c. The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended by providing opportunities for children, youth and adults to meet together in order to pursue cultural and recreational activities such as welfare advice, marriage guidance, family guidance, counselling, funeral services and humanitarian aid and also, by providing a refuge to all underprivileged areas of the Muslim Community in the UK and other countries. d. The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science by offering and accommodating the celebration and commemorate cultural festivals of ethnic origin, such as Eid Ul Fi
