The primary object of the team shall be to provide free of charge a mountain rescue service in the Clencoe area for members of the public who are injured, lost or immobilized anywhere on the mountains in that area, and to recover if possible the bodies of those who have the misfortune to die on those mountains In order to carry out the primary object, and for that purpose only, the team shall have the following subsidiary objects or powers: a. To organise co-operation when appropriate among the Police, the Royal Air Force and other climbers (not being members) to further the primary object. b. To acquire, maintain and hold in readiness all the equipment and apparatus necessary for carrying out the primary object. c. To afford opportunities for members to practise the skills required for carrying out the primary object. d. To receive and manage contributions and gifts in money or kind from members of the public, public bodies, public or private trusts and others, and to spend or apply the same in furthering any of the foregoing objects or powers. e. To purchase, take on feu, lease, hire, take in exchange or otherwise acquire any property and rights which might be advantageous for the purposes of carrying out the primary object of the Team. f. To sell, feu, let, hire, give in exchange or otherwise dispose of all or any part of the property and rights of the Team which may be advantageous for the purposes of carrying out the primary object of the Team.

From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
