The objectives of the Society shall be, by charitable means: (a) To preserve the amenity of the hill commonly called "Bennachie" in Aberdeenshire, defined here as the area enclosed by the tarred public throughway roads closest to the massif which includes the summits called "Oxen Craig" and "Mither Tap". For the avoidance of doubt, this area is further defined in an addendum attached to this Constitution. (b) To help maintain and improve public footpaths and rights of way on Bennachie and to encourage the creation and preservation of features of natural, cultural or public interest on Bennachie. (c) To study and record the natural and cultural history of Bennachie. (d) To encourage and stimulate public interest in and care for Bennachie, its beauty, history, character and surroundings and to discourage litter and vandalism on Bennachie. (e) To pursue these objectives by means of meetings, both indoors and outdoors, exhibitions, lectures, conferences, publications and publicity and by the promotion of relevant schemes of a charitable nature, and by cooperating with others having similar aims.
