Help people find your charity with ALISS

If you run a charity in Scotland, you want people to be able to find the support you offer – whether that's a weekly group, a helpline, community events or practical support. However, it can be difficult for people to know what's out there. ALISS can help with that.

What is ALISS?

ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland) is a national digital programme that helps people find and share information on health and wellbeing resources, services, groups, and support in their local communities and online. It is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland

ALISS is free to use, and its aim is simple: help people live well and stay connected to their community.

Why join ALISS?

Registering your charity with ALISS can help with:

  • Making your services easier to find. Your services appear in a trusted national directory that is used by the public and professions who signpost people to local support.
  • Increasing awareness of your work. Information on ALISS is used across other platforms and directories, such as NHS Inform Scotland’s Service Directory, meaning your service may appear in multiple places without any extra work.
  • Taking control of your information. You can claim and manage your own listings, making sure people always have the most accurate, up-to-date information about your services.

Get involved!

The ALISS team is keen to support all charities to get involved. If your charity isn’t already on ALISS, it is quick and simple to get started. The ALISS Help Centre provides step-by-step guidance on how to add your information to the system, and the ALISS team is available to support you as well. If you have any questions for the team, please get in touch at hello@aliss.org
