Section 17 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005

Please complete this form to notify us when the following changes have been made:

  • a charity has changed its name
  • a charity has changed its constitution – including reorganisations
  • a charity has amalgamated with another body
  • a charity has wound-up or dissolved – including reorganisations
  • any administration order or an order for winding up made by the court in respect of the charity
  • an appointment of a receiver in respect of any of the charity’s property
  • a charity wants to change the details as set out in its entry in the Scottish Charity Register (including geographical spread, main operating location and beneficiary group)

You must read our Making changes and reorganising section before completing this application form, as certain changes require OSCR's prior consent. 

DO NOT USE THIS FORM if you have:

  • changed the charity’s principal office address which is shown on the Scottish Charity Register
  • changed the charity’s registered principal contact details
  • changed the charity's account reference date 
  • changed the charity's trustees

This information should be updated using OSCR Online. Instructions for making this change can be found here.

The Scottish Charity Number starts 'SC0' and can be found on the Scottish Charity Register.
Applicant information
If you are applying on behalf of a charity, please state your position and the organisation you represent.

Have you sought OSCR’s consent to the changes you are notifying us of?
The details of the consent and the file reference number will be outlined in the correspondence you received from OSCR.
For example, charitable companies will be expected to provide a copy of the revised Articles of Association, whereas for Trusts, we would require a copy of the Minute of Amendment, Supplementary Deed or Deed of Amendment

If you are a company, has the body wound-up at Companies House?
For example, if an administrator or receiver has been appointed, please provide their details.
An OSCR Online charity user can update the charity’s principal contact information and office address, amend the list of trustees, and change the charity’s accounting reference date using OSCR Online.
In addition to the changes mentioned earlier in this form, you may also wish to notify us about a change in the accounting reference date, a change in charity’s activities as held on the Register, etc.

OSCR processes information only in accordance with its statutory regulatory functions under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, and to inform research into the charity sector in Scotland. Information may be shared with other regulatory bodies including HMRC, and selected information will appear on the Scottish Charity Register.
