The aims and purpose of Friends of Nairn Duke of Edinburgh Group will be: - To bring together young people from Nairn and the surrounding area and foster participation in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Scheme. - To promote knowledge and understanding of the DofE scheme in the local community, thus advancing education about the benefits of the scheme both in participants and wider area. - To establish an ethos of support for the Scheme within local clubs, charities and businesses, while also helping them develop through increased participation by local young people. - To promote the advancement of education by developing knowledge in the areas of a healthy lifestyle, the great outdoors and how to look after it, and educating participants in the benefits of community involvement both for themselves and for their community. This will be done through involvement in the activities participants must undertake as part of the scheme, and the training they are given during that involvement. - To help develop a sense of citizenship by establishing links between young people and their community through volunteering and involvement in local clubs. - To create and maintain a structure that ensures the sustainability of the Scheme in Nairn and the surrounding area and its continued development.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
