For the Purposes of the 2005 Act, the following charitable purposes are particularly relevant. a)The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. b)The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. c)The advancement of environmental protection or improvement. With reference to the above we will; To advance the environment by acquiring the lease of area known as the old Rose Garden and develop it as the Linlithgow Peace Garden and by providing various environmental activities. Provide recreational facilities and activities in Linlithgow Peace Garden for the benefit of the residents and visitors of Linlithgow to provide a meaningful and beautiful place of tranquil peace. The Garden will provide a location for small, free community events such as choral, drama and concerts. It will also provide a resource for local special needs groups, and for the elderly and young. Promotion of peace education activities for children and young people will be actively encouraged. To advance the arts, heritage and culture by incorporating a number of physical and planting features to mark the garden as a key location in the historic centre of the town and in particular to carry on the heritage work of the old Annet House Trust with its historic? Rig? garden. The trustees will seek opportunities to install items of Public Art appropriate to the location of the garden and to enhance the attractiveness of the garden to visitors.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
