What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:
The DBC is a voluntary group consisting of twelve core members and four trustees. We are all from the local area serving the community through the provision of the community woodland and bike trails and recreational woodland. The group consists of project managers, a geologist, doctors, an operations manager and engineers. We are committed to maintaining and continually improving the woodland to best suit the users. The woodland was purchased for Forest and Land Scotland in 2022 through the community asset transfer scheme and is managed and maintained by the Deeside Bike Collective. The Banchory Woodland Trails were constructed through winter ‘23/’24 and opened in April 2024. The trails have been a great success with the local community and bikers provided a valuable free to use outdoor recreational space for people of Banchory and extended communities of Aberdeenshire to enjoy. With its location close to the town, makes for easy access by bike or on foot.

From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

If the charity trustee information on a Register entry appears blank, this may mean that an exemption applies or that the charity has not yet provided the required details to OSCR. Supplying this information will become mandatory as part of future annual submissions.
