What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:

Greener Kemnay was started by a group of friends to raise the environmental consciousness of the village. Raising the awareness of the possibilities for regenerative and community growing were our first outcomes. This was closely followed by a joint paths group with Positive Steps Kemnay to create safe link paths to encourage longer walks around the outskirts of the village. Our ambition for a community garden space for growing and sociability was realised in 2017. In more recent years we have promoted ways of reducing domestic energy consumption and promoted the use of thermal imaging to start conversations over insulation and retrofit measures to reduce the need to buy in energy. We use the monthly village newsletter, social media, our website, activity days and free events to promote our aims and objectives and share our conversations through a monthly bulletin to a mailing list of villagers, councillors, council officers and transition groups.
