The purposes of the SCIO are:- (i) to advance and promote education on Jim Clark; including his life, his inspiration and his racing career and achievements, and to educate the general public on the history, development and current practice of motor sports including technology, engineering and design, by arranging and participating in events and producing and issuing literature and publications; (ii) to promote and preserve the history, legacy and heritage of Jim Clark specifically in the town of Duns and in Scotland by acquiring, obtaining and preserving items of memorabilia for public display, and through initiatives, projects and working with third parties; (iii) to support the re-development and running of the Jim Clark Memorial Room public museum in Duns, Scottish Borders by working in partnership with the Scottish Borders Council and their successor, to include fundraising for the museum; and (iv) to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
