The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To offer counselling and support services to promote and improve the psychological well-being of those who are suffering as a result of problematic alcohol or drug use, stress or depression, bereavement, damaged relationships, or any other psychological or mental health issue or problematic behaviour that reduces the quality of the beneficiaries' life. 4.2 To provide an inclusive service for all beneficiaries, in particular those who are economically, socially, physically, emotionally, or otherwise disadvantaged. 4.3 To keep pace with, influence the development of, and uphold professional standards in counselling and support practice and training for the benefit of service users and counselling practitioners. 4.4 To contribute to the reduction of stigmatisation experienced by those with psychological problems, mental ill health, or drug or alcohol issues, and to support understanding of the role of counselling with associated professionals and the general public.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
