The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund and income ~thereof for the advancement and promotion of the arts, heritage and culture in the following ways:- Residents of West Lothian who have been to a West Lothian State School and who are either attending or who are about to attend either the Edinburgh School of Art, Duncan of Jordanston, Leith School of Art or the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland shall be eligible to apply to the Trust for a grant/bursary to study one or more of the following areas within the field of Art or within the field of Music as set out below:- In the field of Art (i) figurative painting and/or drawing which includes French Impressionism, Post Impressionism, the Scottish Colourists, the Glasgow Boys, the English. Romantics, New English Art of the 19th and 20th Century, all of which may include the study and influence of Scottish, Irish and English figurative painters but which excludes for the avoidance of doubt the study of Conceptual Art, Installations, Art Happenings, Audio Visual Art, Photographic Transfer Art, American/Pop and/or Art/Poster Art, Graphic Audio, Pop Cartoons, Graffiti Art, Mural Art, Political. Art, Commercial Art, Folk Art and Verbal Audio Presentations. In the field of Music (ii) for the study of classical music, opera or for the training in' a musical instrument,' which includes composition, conducting, classical. opera, voice and all musical' instruments (including percussion, classical piping and the organ), but which for the avoidance of doubt excludes all popular music, jazz, blues, audio visual, contemporary dance/ballet, folk singing and theatre design, etc. Post graduate grants/and or bursaries may also be available to individuals who are in need owing to financial hardship or some other disadvantage and who wish to progress their studies at a post graduate level at any of the following: Edinburgh School of Art, Glasgow School of Art, Gray's School of Art, Duncan of Jordanston, Leith

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
