The Committee is established exclusively for charitable purposes, with the following aims: a) Advancing Education and Promoting Social Welfare To advance education by providing, or assisting in the provision of, facilities for recreation and other leisure-time activities. These activities will be offered in the interests of social welfare, with the intention of improving the quality of life for members of the community within the area of benefit. The Committee shall ensure that such provision is accessible, inclusive, and designed to support personal development and social engagement. b) Supporting Community Welfare and Inclusion To advance community welfare by offering grant aid to individuals, groups, and organisations dedicated to generating positive social impact. The Committee is committed to fostering equality, promoting social inclusion, and empowering the local community. Through financial support of projects and initiatives that address social, educational, environmental, and cultural needs, the Committee seeks to help reduce social isolation and alleviate poverty, ensuring that all community members have opportunities to participate fully in society. i. Providing financial support for projects that enhance educational opportunities and community engagement. ii. Supporting initiatives that address environmental sustainability and cultural enrichment. iii. Reducing isolation and poverty through targeted grant aid and collaborative community programmes. iv. Empowering individuals and groups to create lasting, positive change in the local area. From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
