To act as a community body in respect of he area defined by postcodes annexed pursuant to the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 ("the 2003 Act") and to exercise all applicable rights to buy and hold land as a community body in accordance with 2003 Act and do all such things as are conducive or incidental thereto; and to promote and secure by charitable means but not otherwise the restoration and preservation of the historic, cultural and natural heritage of the surrounding area (hereafter, the Operating Area) following principles of sustainable development, where 'sustainable development' means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, in general which object shall include such of the following as in the sole discretion of the Trustees for the Project be considered desirable having regard to financial and other resources available to ]the Company namely: 3.1 .I The preservation, restoration and improvement of the environment in and around the Operating Area through the provision, maintenance and/or the improvement of public open space an! other public amenities and other environmental and townscape regeneration projects, and on the basis that in doing so, the Company shall seek wherever appropriate (but subject to appropriate safeguards to ensure that the public benefit so arising clearly outweighs any private benefit thereby conferred on private landlords) to carry out works of reclamation, remediation, restoration and other operations to facilitate the use for those purposes of land whose use has been prevented or restricted because of previous use. 3.1.2 The promotion, for the public benefit, of the preservation (whether wholly or in part) of buildings and other structures of historic and/or environmental significance within the Operating Area. 3.1.3 To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
