To carry on as its main object the furtherance of enterprise and entrepreneurship education in Scotland's higher education institutes (HEIs), including any one or more of the following: working with HES to ensure dissemination to the academic community of best practice in enterprise education; providing learning opportunities through educational programmes, modules and workshops covering all aspects of enterprise skills for HEIs, their staff and students; stimulating interest in enterprise by providing a series of events, lectures, conferences and publications by commercialisation practitioners, enterprise educators, and other experts, to HEIs, their staff and students; facilitating the realisation of the commercial potential of students and alumni from HEIs, including by holding business plan and business competitions amongst the HEIs' students; providing HEIs, their staff and students with continual support and advice to provide guidance and ongoing development to enterprising individuals; supporting the financial development of enterprises by supporting access to business development funds; supporting and promoting awareness of international enterprise, including the provision of international placements; and publicising and promoting the Company's activities by all available means. Generally to carry on business as providers of information and training on any matter or discipline to promote enterprise and the creation and commercialisation of enterprises within the Scottish academic community and beyond. To provide as required or as necessary a network of contacts to enable HEIs, their staff and students to access specialised resources required to successfull17 take their enterprise into the commercial marketplace, whether general, legal, financial or technical.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
