Object:
(1) To promote horticulture in and around the Broughton area of Edinburgh for the benefit of the public by providing or encouraging the provision of displays of flowers, shrubs, trees and landscapes in places visible to the public. (2) To advance the education of the public concerning the natural environment through the development of environmental programmes. In furtherance thereof, but not otherwise, the Group shall seek to protect, preserve and enhance the environmental amenities of the Broughton area of Edinburgh and its environs with the object of improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants. (3) To promote the well-being of the inhabitants of the Broughton area of Edinburgh and its environs without distinction of race, gender, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time activities. In furtherance thereof, but not otherwise the Group shall seek to develop and landscape the areas known as Broughton Road playground, Redbraes Park and Powderhall bowling greens and other publicly owned areas in the Broughton area of Edinburgh.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
