4.1 To promote, for the public benefit, rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation, particularly, but not exclusively, in communities falling within the boundaries of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and thereby improving the social, economic and physical quality of life of individuals residing in the said communities, particularly in the maintenance and/or improvement of: - access to services, including those related to health and wellbeing, social care and to educational opportunities, both formal and informal; - access to employment opportunities and the infrastructure to sustain employment; - the physical environment, both natural and built; - the heritage and culture of the operating area. 4.2 To advance community development within the operating area through provision of support to communities to identify and articulate the needs of their communities and to further support them in realising solutions through: - providing support in developing community action plans; - encouraging, promoting and supporting participation in decision making at local, regional and national level; - providing opportunities for collective action through the development and maintenance of networks and partnerships. 4.3 To promote civic responsibility and active citizenship in individuals through provision of opportunities for development of civic values and engagement in the democratic process, particularly, but not exclusively, in young people through: - providing training and other learning opportunities - promoting employment, placement and volunteering opportunities - providing opportunities for networking between individuals, public, private, community and third sector organisations and representatives. 4.4 To support and promote community organisations, third sector organisations and charities within the operating area to operate more effectively through: - providing support to establish new organisations; - providing support to existing organisations to ensure they are well managed and governed and have effective structures for future development; - providing encouragement and support to community led organisations to acquire and manage assets for the public benefit
