1.1.1 Families First St Andrews is a non-profit distributing Company. It shall deliver its services from its base in the St Andrews area of Fife and shall normally draw the membership from any person who is either resident or regularly employed within the town of St Andrews, and surrounding area, and who is in sympathy with the objects of the Company; so long as they continue to be eligible to become a member of the Company, whilst recognising the ability to attend meetings in person as required. 1.1.2 Families First St Andrews aims to support the social, domestic and community needs of children, young people and their families living in St Andrews and the North East Fife area, as resources permit. 1.1.3 In furtherance of this, the Company’s objects are: a) The prevention and/or relief of poverty. b) The advancement of health and wellbeing. c) The provision of recreational facilities and activities for children, young people and their families. d) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, rural isolation or other disadvantage.

To voluntarily supplement the social, domestic and community needs of families and children in St Andrews and the surrounding area under any relevant legislation and to liaise and co-operate with statutory and voluntary bodies and their personnel and to take whatever action commends itself to the Company for the benefit of the health and welfare of families and children and the community in St Andrews and the surrounding area, by whatever means may be deemed appropriate.

From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

If the charity trustee information on a Register entry appears blank, this may mean that an exemption applies or that the charity has not yet provided the required details to OSCR. Supplying this information will become mandatory as part of future annual submissions.

The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
