What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:
To provide community development support and information services to the population of the Machars. We provide a tourist information service for visitors, advertise local events, provide an affordable admin service re photocopying, printing, laminating, book binding etc. We publish a quarterly free, local newspaper for the Machars area. We provide affordable independent examination of accounts for local organisations. We publish events on our website. We administer wildfowling permits for shooters coming to Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve. We hire out office equipment as well as hire of a meetings room. We facilitate a Citizens Advice outreach service and help local people fill out forms, job applications and CV's. We publish a weekly "Situations Vacant". We act as an outlet for local crafters to showcase their work.

    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
