The company's objects are. (1) To support women in need by reason of having been abused (mentally, physically, sexually or financially) by a person with whom the woman is or has been in a relationship and to support children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse, by. a providing temporary refuge for such women and their chrldren (East Renfiewshve Women's Aid provides a service for women whether or not they have children), b, offering support, and information and help to women, children and young people who ask for such help, whether or not they are refuge residents, and also offering support and information to any women, children and young people who have left a temporary refuge (2) To promote equality for, and the participation of, women in society to enable them to determine their own futures (3) To advance education by a. providing opportunities to meet the developmental and emotional needs of chldren and young people, particularly those resident in refuges, or women using the facilities and services provided by the company; b by informing and raising awareness in the community and its representatives, including the media, the police, the judicial system, the social services and other authorities, with respect to the abuse of women and its prevention (taking account of the fact that abuse (mental, physical, sexual and financial) is as a result of the position of women in society), c. by encouraging research into the causes, prevention and relief of the abuse and the effects thereof on women, children and young people (4) To promote, establish and/or support similar projects and programmes which further charitable purposes.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.

In addition to the above, a charity may also be able to provide you with previous years’ accounts and constitutions, although it is not obliged to do so. You can contact the charity to request this information using the contact details on the charity’s Register entry.
