The Trustees may apply the Trust Fund and the income therefrom for such purposes as the law shall from time to time regard as charitable within the meaning of Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 or any Act amending or replacing the same for the advancement of education of the residents of the Dunbeath area and in particular, the" Trustees may utilise the fund and the income thereof for the provision of an annual prize or prices for reading in the Dunbeath Primary School and further, to encourage participants in the competition, for the provision of a Ben Gunn Memorial plaque within the said School upon which shall be inscribed annually the names of the winners of the said prizes

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
