What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:
Arran Cancer Support was established in 1989 and since then has provided support to people on Arran who have been impacted by cancer. The services provided include annual financial payment for the provision of a dedicated NHS cancer nurse who is based on Arran; financial support for people who want to take their own car to hospital appointments with the help of a companion; drivers who meet service users at either Ardrossan or Troon port and take them to and from hospital appointments on the mainland; support for emergency accommodation needs when returning ferries do not sail; a wide range of complementary therapies to help people with well-being; a comfortable area to chat and relax in its Hub in Brodick….and a good deal more.

From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
