The purposes of the Trust are (PRIMO) to provide for the we1fare of all persons in necessitous circumstances who are employed in the Scottish -Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust or formally employed persons having left the Scottish Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust or the Scottish Ambulance Service, being formerly a Division of the Common Services Agency for the Scottish Health Service on medical grounds or retired and in necessitous circumstances and the dependants of all such persons and, without prejudice to the foregoing generality, to provide for the relief of financial hardship, sickness and distress among or the retraining of serving and former members of either the Scottish Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust or the said Scottish Ambulance Service, or the said and their dependants; and (SECUNDO) to protect and preserve the health both physical and mental of the people of Scotland and to relieve the suffering and the distress of the sick and injured by the provision of equipment and services for the Scottish Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust and through the advancement of the education of and the re-training of serving members of the Scottish Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust. The purposes set out in this clause (hereinafter called "the Trust Purposes") shall be carried out in such a manner as the Trustees in their discretion shall deem fit.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
