The company's objects are the relief of poverty and the advancement of education. In furtherance of the above objects but not further or otherwise the company shall have the following powers: (a) To offer a range of placements within voluntary and statutory organisations to assist persons in necessitous circumstances without distinction as to race, age or sex or political, religious or other opinions, to gain training and educational advancement and to assess and review their progress and to offer guidance and counselling as may be required. (g) To act as tutors, public speakers, lecturers, correspondents, writers, proprietors, publishers, printers and distributors and retailers of books, magazines, journals, periodicals, papers and pamphlets, education and literary works and undertakings and to arrange and organise conferences, seminars, lectures and courses between interested parties for pooling and dissemination of experiences, information and techniques relating to the work of the company.
