purpose is to promote the welfare of elderly persons in the milngavie area. the commitee shall initiate and implement initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare of older people. Complement the work of statutory bodies and other organisations by providing activities for physical and mental recreation or further resources to support older people in the community. Bring together in conference and work with local voluntary organisations, statutory authorities and individuals to further the objects of the organisation. Assist in the alleviation of poverty by ensuring older people are aware of their benefit entitlements; acting as an advocate on behalf of older people; making representation on behalf of older people and campaigning for the rights of older people. organise, or assist in the organisation of, displays, exhibitions, meetings, classes, seminars or training courses which promote the objects of the organisation. From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
