OBJECTS The objects of the Charity are: a) To safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical of children and parents of children; b) To prevent cruelty to or maltreatment of children; c) To relieve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children; d) To promote the education of the public in better standards of child care within the area of Levenmouth and its environs.

What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:
Home-Start Levenmouth was established in 1993 in response to needs identified by local workers and covers the area from Lower Largo in the east through Leven, Methil, Windygates, Kennnoway, Buckhaven and the Wemyss villages as far as West Wemyss in the west. As a vital community resource, Home-Start Levenmouth aims to strengthen family bonds and promote positive parenting experiences. Our highly trained volunteers, provide one to one home-visiting support to families in their home, where it can be shaped to the needs of the family. We are recognised as a trusted partner in the local communities we serve, and we work closely with local partners to ensure that families have access to centred early intervention and prevention support. While this ideal remains at the heart of our work, we have created new ways of helping parents and their children to meet the changing needs of families. From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

If the charity trustee information on a Register entry appears blank, this may mean that an exemption applies or that the charity has not yet provided the required details to OSCR. Supplying this information will become mandatory as part of future annual submissions.

The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.
