1.To organise activities of a recreational nature for children at various times throughout the year, particularly during one week in the summer, culminating in a @gala day@, on which the principal events shall be the crowning of a King and Queen, with the associated ceremonial; and the provision of a picnic meal for the children resident in Newtongrange up to the age of twelve years. The King and Queen and members of the court shall be drawn from children resident in and attending Newtongrange and St Andrew’s Primary School, Newtonloan, and shall be selected by the School Authorities. Neither the Committee as a whole, nor any individual member thereof, shall have any part in this selection. 2.To seek and encourage the co-operation of the local community, and organisations, in carrying out the programme outlined above. 3.To raise Funds for financing these activities by appeals for donations from local organisations, and members of the public, by organising small lotteries, by voluntary collections, and such other means as maybe deemed by the Committee to be appropriate. All such Funds so raised shall be devoted entirely to the carrying out of the Objects set out in Paragraphs 1 and 2 above.
