The company has been formed to benefit principally the Falkirk Council area of Grangemouth and Bo 'ness and its immediate surrounds (the "Area of Benefit") with the following objects 4.1 the advancement of education through (but not limited to) providing individuals with information, clarification and understanding of legislation and their legal rights and responsibilities; 4.2 the relief of those in need through (but not limited to) (i) assessing individuals' entitlement to welfare benefits; (ii) providing assistance in claiming benefits; and (iii) assisting individuals to appeal against refusal of benefits; and by doing so mitigate the effects of poverty. 4.3 The advancement of civil and human rights by ensuring that people do not suffer through ignorance of their civil and human rights and responsibilities and by taking such actions as are intended to redress the situation and redress wrongs and restore justice . 4.4 the advancement of health by providing a comprehensive advice service which seeks to address individuals' problems and thereby alleviates the injury to health, stress and anxiety caused by unsolved problems; and 4.5 the advancement of community development by recruiting, training and developing local citizens to be volunteers in and for the Bureau, who in turn assist members of the public within the Area of Benefit, and in doing so contribute to the development of their community.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
