The objects for which the Committee is established are as follows:- (1) To promote the general welfare of old people in the Burgh of Helensburgh by initiating and carrying out schemes for that purpose, by assisting the work of the statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in providing facilities for physical and mental recreation, furthering health, alleviating distress or sickness, providing meals and comforts and pursuing any objects having these ends in view, which now are or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable. (2) To promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes and to that end bring together in Committee representatives of statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in the furthering of the above purposes or any of them within the Burgh of Helensburgh. (3) To promote and carry out, or assist in promoting any carrying out surveys relating to the number and needs of old people and arrange for forwarding the relevant facts to the proper authorities and organisations. (4) To arrange and provide for or join in arranging and providing for the holding of exhibitions, meetings, lectures and classes calculated directly or indirectly to further the objects of the Committee or any of them. (5) To do all such things as may seem incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:
