These communities meet regularly, as defined in the Charter of Faith and Light, for friendship, celebration, sharing, reflection and prayer. (2) To create fraternal, supportive links between these different communities, particularly by means of regional, national and international meeting and pilgrimages. (3) To encourage the inclusion of these communities and of their members within the wider human and Christian community, particularly attention being paid to the need to respect differing cultures. (4) To collaborate with associations helping handicapped people to develop their human and spiritual capacities and seeking to give them their rightful place in society and in the Church. (5) To be a witness to the attitude of Jesus towards mentally handicapped people and of the belief that they are children of God with the capacity for a spiritual life and for true holiness.

Charity accounts and constitution – what information do we publish?

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.

In addition to the above, a charity may also be able to provide you with previous years’ accounts and constitutions, although it is not obliged to do so. You can contact the charity to request this information using the contact details on the charity’s Register entry.
