In particular, the Objects shall be to provide relief and support to black minority ethnic women and their children, if any, who have suffered and escaped physical, mental, sexual or other abuse within their homes from their partner or other relative. Where resources are available, the Company may also provide relief and support to women and children in this position from other ethnic minority communities. Support will be provided through: 5.1 the provision of temporary refuge accommodation for the women and their children; and 5.2 the provision, for the women and their children, of information, support and advice whilst living in their own homes or in temporary refuge accommodation and following their re-housing and resettlement to enable them to determine their own futures; and 5.3 recognition and support of the emotional and educational needs of black and minority ethnic children escaping abuse with their mothers, especially those living in refuge / temporary accommodation; and 5.4 assistance to the women and their children with accessing services from other voluntary and statutory organisations and advice to the said organisations on providing appropriate services to black and minority ethnic women and their children.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
