The objects for which the Trust is established are the advancement of education, the relief of poverty, the advancement of religion and the promotion and aiding of such other purposes as are recognised by law to be exclusively charitable and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing:- (a) To preserve, protect, restore, improve, enhance and maintain buildings and artefacts of architectural, historical, educational or other interest connected with the Lumsden Clan in Scotland with a view to securing public access to such buildings and the permanent display for the benefit of the public of such artefacts for the purposes of research, study, recreation or other leisure time occupation; (b) To collect, preserve and publish books, manuscripts and recordings connected with the Lumsden Clan for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public and for these purposes to establish, maintain and develop museums, libraries or other premises for the storage, display and lending to the public of such books, manuscripts and recordings; (c) To encourage or assist in the encouragement for the public benefit of genealogical and historical research and publication of all matters related to the Lumsden Clan; (d) To restore and maintain tombs, brasses and burial grounds connected with the Lumsden Clan for the .purposes of historical and genealogical research and to maintain appropriate records...

From January 2026, OSCR will begin publishing annual reports and accounts in full online once they are received. This marks a change from the current approach, where OSCR publishes accounts for certain charities, depending on their legal form and income, with personal details redacted.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
