The Fund subject to the deduction of administration expenses shall be devoted to the purposes of Benevolence, in connection with Royal Arch Masonnry. The Three Principals, Immediate Past First Principal, Scribe E., Treasurer of B.F., and the First Sojourner, shall be a Committee of Benevolence, of which one of the Principals, and any other two members of the Committee, shall be a quorum, to examine into and report on all applications for relief. They shall have power to grant relief to the extent of Two Guineas, if the case shall seem to them urgent, but they shall report all such grants to the Chapter at its first Ordinary Meeting thereafter; all applications shall be made in writing to the Convener of the Committee. The First Principal, or in his absence the presiding Companion, at any meeting shall have power to grant casual relief, not exceeding Ten Shilling, to any Companion in distress.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
