The objects for which the Trust is established are to establish a Fund in memory of the late Miss Athene Lydia Wall Munkman the purpose of such a Fund being to provide a grant or scholarship for post-graduate students in public international law, prizes for students in public international law or some other benefit to the Department of Public International Law at the University of Edinburgh or failing all these to provide some benefit to the Faculty of Law to the University of Edinburgh: Declaring that the decision as to the purpose or purposes of the aforementioned Fund shall be made by the Trustees in consultation with the University of Edinburgh: Further declaring that the Trustees may in their sole and absolute discretion pay and make over the Trust Fund to the University of Edinburgh to administer for the foregoing purposes. And the Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund at their sole discretion to make grants, loans or payments out of the income or capital of the Trust Fund for these objects or any of them or for such other purpose or purposes charitable in law as the Trustees shall from time to time determine: Declaring that such grants or loans may be made on such terms and subject to such conditions as the Trustees may think fit and in the case of loans with or without security and upon such terms as to interest, if any, and repayment as the Trustees in their sole discretion think proper.

From April 2016 we began to publish charities’ accounts, initially for those charities with an annual income of £25,000 or more, and for all SCIOs.

When a charity publishes its accounts on its website and has supplied us with a link, we have made this available. From late 2017, where the charity is a company, a registered social landlord or is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a link is provided to the relevant regulator’s website where the accounts are made available. We accept no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, or content of external websites – if you experience a technical issue with an external link, you should contact the charity directly.

You have the right to the following information under section 23 (1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, from the charity direct:

  • a copy of the charity’s latest statement of accounts
  • a copy of the charity’s constitution.
