Making changes and reorganising

There are some changes that need our consent (permission) before you can make them, some which you just need to notify us of (tell us about), and others that you as a charity can make without contacting OSCR.

What changes do you want to make? 

Change your charity's purposes
You need OSCR's consent before you can change your charity's purposes. 

Change your charity's name
You need OSCR's consent before you can change your charity's name. 

Wind up or dissolve your charity 
You need OSCR's consent before you can wind up or dissolve your charity. 

Change your charity's legal form (Incorporation) 
You need to follow OSCR's process for changing your charity's legal form. 

Reorganise your charity 
Some charity's need to apply to OSCR for a reorganisation scheme before they can make changes. 

Amalgamating with another charity
You need OSCR's consent before you can amalgamate or merge with another charity.

Applying to court to amend your charity's charitable purposes, or to amalgamate, or to wind up     
You need OSCR's consent before you can apply to court to take any of these actions.

Transfer of a SCIO's undertaking        
You must apply to OSCR before you can transfer all the property, rights and liabilities to another SCIO.
