To promote community development in the rural community of Deerness and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious, or other opinions, and to associate with the local authorities, voluntary organisations and residents in a common effort to promote social and other leisure and recreational activities to foster a community spirit, for the achievement of these so that their conditions of life may be improved. In furtherance of this the association will maintain and manage Deerness Community Centre for activities promoted by the committee or any of its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects and to carry out any extension of the premises or facilities provided which may at any time seem necessary or desirable.

The Scottish Charity Register contains key information about a charity’s operations and finances. This includes:

  • the names of a charity’s trustees (exemptions apply)
  • its annual report and full accounts, if submitted after 9 March 2026
    (Accounts submitted prior to 9 March 2026 will be redacted, or may not be published, depending on the charity’s income level or legal form.)

These changes are designed to improve transparency across the charity sector in Scotland.

Under section 23(1)(a) and (b) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005, you have the right to request the following information directly from the charity:
