To promote the benefit of the community resident from Galson to Ballantrushal, Isle of Lewis, without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating with local authorities, voluntary organisations and residents in a common effort to further health, to advance education, to provide a meeting place and facilities for physical and mental training and recreation, and social, moral and intellectual development, and to foster a community spirit for the achievement of these and other such objects as may be by law deemed to be charitable.

What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:

The charity operates a fairly modern multi-purpose community centre, predominantly serving the population of north-west Lewis, but available to anyone to use. It provides meeting spaces for individuals and groups and hosts its own events too, including for fund-raising purposes. The community centre is currently operated by a group of 12 volunteer trustees/Directors. It has been open since 2009, when the centre was completed, but has existed as an entity since 2002.
