What the charity is set up to do and how it does this:
SCDT are a charity that is led by local volunteers to support and promote community development in the local area. It does this through managing community owned and leased assets. E.g. a Community Garden in Crianlarich; woodlands in Tyndrum & Crianlarich, and the 4 affordable properties that we let to local people. It aims to improve the lives of local people by providing or supporting activities. E.g. at the community garden local residents are encouraged to ‘grow their own’ produce and enjoy all the health benefits of being outdoors. They run a varied summer activities programme for the local primary school children. This takes place once a week for 6 weeks. In collaboration with Walk in the Park, SCDT supports the provision of a weekly Strength & Balance exercise class in the village hall in Crianlarich. SCDT collaborate with other agencies on environmental projects in the area, such as rewilding, as well as on local heritage projects and an oral history project.

From 09 March 2026, OSCR is required by law to publish the names of a charity’s trustees as part of its Scottish Charity Register entry. We are also required to publish each charity’s annual report and accounts as received from this date, which may include the names of certain individuals. The only exceptions to publication are where a charity or one of its charity trustees applies for this information to be excluded, and OSCR is satisfied that publishing it would jeopardise the safety or security of a person or premises.

If the charity trustee information on a Register entry appears blank, this may mean that an exemption applies or that the charity has not yet provided the required details to OSCR. Supplying this information will become mandatory as part of future annual submissions.
