OSCR Chair pays tribute to Jane Ryder
communications@oscr.org.uk, 07-10-2011
On 30 September, OSCR said farewell to Jane Ryder our first Chief Executive.

Originally seconded by the Scottish Government to set up OSCR as
an Executive Agency in December 2003, Jane was permanently
appointed once OSCR took up its full powers under the Charities and
Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act, in 2006. During that time
she played a key role in the development of the modern regulatory
system with which charities and the public are now very
familiar.
Jane Ryder said "It has been an enormous privilege to serve as
Chief Executive of OSCR. I have found the past eight years
challenging, creative, demanding and hugely rewarding. I
would like to express my thanks to OSCR's Board, Senior Management
and staff, and for all the public and sector support which has
collectively contributed to OSCR's development.
I am hoping to continue to contribute to the development of
regulation and corporate governance in a variety of different
fields, and I hope my path will cross with many charities and their
representatives again in the near future."
OSCR's Chair, The Very Rev'd Dr Graham Forbes CBE, thanked Jane
Ryder for her 'massive contribution' to Scotland's charity
sector.
'From her appointment in 2003, Jane has played an instrumental
role in establishing and developing a robust, modern regulatory
framework in which the public can have confidence. Scotland
owes her a real debt of gratitude,' he said.
Appointment of new Chief Executive
In mid-September, David Robb was appointed as OSCR's Chief
Executive following an open recruitment process and is currently
the Scottish Government's Head of Public Service Reform and
Efficiency. He has previously worked with the Scottish Public
Services Ombudsman and was Head of the Scottish Government's Public
Bodies Policy Division.
David takes up his post with OSCR on Monday 24 October 2011.
