OSCR invites feedback
01 April 2008
Scotland’s charity regulator is to undertake research into awareness of, and attitudes to, charity regulation.
OSCR, The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, has posted questionnaires to 1,000 charities and 10,000 Scottish households to gather feedback on key issues. The public survey is designed to track awareness of charity regulation and public confidence in charities, while the charity survey seeks views on key issues affecting the sector.

Chief Executive Jane Ryder said that the research work demonstrated OSCR’s ongoing commitment to consulting the sector and would gauge the public’s views on the work of charities and the Regulator.
‘It is nearly two years since OSCR took up its regulatory powers and we have established a robust but proportionate framework for charity regulation,’ she said. ‘This is our third survey of charities and we look forward to receiving their views and those of the public, on whose confidence charities ultimately depend’.
Both the public and charity surveys are being conducted by an independent researcher and will run until 11th April and 18th April respectively, with OSCR publishing a summary report the following month.
