Scottish Ministers wish to appoint at least two members to the Board of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). You will be involved in overseeing the discharge of OSCR’s statutory duties and act as an ambassador for OSCR to promote its policies and values.
The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is the independent regulator and registrar of Scottish charities. It was established as a Non- Ministerial Department in April 2006 by the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. It aims to increase public confidence in charities through effective regulation, greater transparency and public accountability.
The Board is responsible for the overall vision for OSCR, for the strategy by which this will be achieved, for policy and for monitoring performance.
The successful candidates will have:
- the ability to analyse complex material and to reach sound conclusions based on analysis
- the ability to work as part of a team and constructively challenge within a Board environment
- a demonstrable level of personal and professional integrity
- an understanding of at least one of the following: small charities, charity fundraising, regulation and/or corporate governance.
