Section 33 Reports

Scottish Help Section 33 report
23/02/2007
Since August 2006,OSCR has received a number of referrals from the public regarding the charitable status of Scottish Help (also known as Scottish Help for the World and Scottish Help for the Poor People). Scottish Help is not entered on the Scottish Charity Register. Inquiries conducted under section 28 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (hereafter "the 2005 Act") confirmed that Scottish Help has been held out to be a charity when it is not. This is in breach of Section 13 of the 2005 Act. OSCR has issued two directions under Section 31(5) of the 2005 Act requiring Scottish Help and its representatives to stop holding Scottish Help out as being a charity when it is not.
